👻 A.G.H.O.S.T.: A Delightfully Spooky History of Seattle–Tacoma’s Most Haunted Hobby

Long before EMF meters were buzzing and investigators were stumbling around dark basements whispering, “Did you hear that?”, Ross Allison was just a guy who loved ghosts and wished Seattle had a real paranormal investigation team. One night, while Ross was rambling about hauntings (as Ross does), his friend Mark finally told him, “If you want a ghost group so badly… just start one.”

And Ross did.

With that simple nudge, A.G.H.O.S.T. — the Advanced Ghost Hunters of Seattle–Tacoma — was born, rising from the mist like a Pacific Northwest legend. Ross wanted a team that wasn’t about cheap scares or TV theatrics. He wanted real investigations: documentation, research, evidence, and a whole lot of late‑night coffee.

The early days were a mix of enthusiasm, questionable equipment, and investigators learning the hard way that old buildings have a lot of creaky pipes. But the group grew quickly, becoming known for its professionalism, curiosity, and willingness to sit in a dark room for hours waiting for something — anything — to happen.

Then, in 2012, a new investigator arrived: June Nixon. She came in with a warm smile, a notebook, and absolutely no idea what she was getting herself into. Within weeks she was knee‑deep in client calls, case files, and the occasional “My house is haunted but also my cat is missing” situation. June eventually became Client Coordinator, and later Vice President, proving that sometimes the spooky life chooses you.

Over the years, A.G.H.O.S.T. has explored historic buildings, private homes, theaters, cemeteries, and places that smelled haunted even if they weren’t. The team has collected EVPs, strange photos, personal experiences, and enough “What was that?” moments to fill a library.

Today, A.G.H.O.S.T. stands as one of the longest‑running paranormal teams in the Pacific Northwest — a blend of science, curiosity, humor, and just enough spooky chaos to keep things interesting. Thanks to Ross’s vision, Mark’s push, and the many investigators who joined along the way, the group continues to help clients, explore haunted history, and occasionally embarrass themselves in the dark when a raccoon makes a noise.

Because in the end, that’s the magic of A.G.H.O.S.T.: A team of people who chase the unexplained, support the community, and never lose their sense of humor — even when something goes bump in the night.
