A couple of years ago, we got to investigate the Mansfield Ohio State Reformatory (this was where the Shawshank Redemption was filmed). Over the night we had quite a few personal experiences but it wasn’t until we went up to the attic of the penitentiary that we had our most intense experience. Our group leader, Ross, decided to place each of us in different parts of the attic and turn off all the lights (not because it’s scarier but because it heightens everyone’s senses) So, we are all standing in the dark when I start getting goose bumps and feeling extremely anxious. Next thing I know, even though it’s dark, it starts to get darker and darker, the little light that was coming through the windows starts to disappear, pretty soon it’s like the blackest black I’ve ever seen. That’s when we were all quiet and we started to hear footsteps. Not just any footsteps but dragging footsteps. NO ONE in our group was walking. The air got colder and thicker, I felt like I couldn't breathe. Then it was gone. The darkness wasn’t as intense and I felt like I could breathe again. While looking at our sensors we realized it showed something moving around the sensor, although no one was close to it. The Night vision camera showed no rats or animals either. It still makes me wonder what we might have almost witnessed that night…
