Jon Deaux's Setup

Hey there Everybody, Below is a snapshot of my main gear set when I am on investigations with the team. Now what I like to use is the Full Spectrum technology. I use a Full Spectrum LED light, a Wide Angle IR LED light, a Full Spectrum POV camera, a camera mount, and the Zoom H4N audio recorder. Below are the links so you can check out the tech specs.

Our member Morgan introduced me to this Novel idea of using a Body camera on ghost hunts so I bought one too! I also use mine at work too since I do "SECURITY" This little guy has all kinds of different features, IR/Night Vision, GPS, Records Pictures, Audio, Video/Audio, and more. It only uses INTERNAL memory. I recommend checking various models out on Amazon and eBay to see what works for what you need it for. I have a few other models saved to my wish list in case if I ever need/want to buy a 2nd unit. Here is a link to this one specifically. I do recommend getting one for investigations as well.

I like the concept of being able to access Full Spectrum technologies because it gives us access to both IR and UV light. The only thing to remember when your using the Full Spectrum band with is that using this type of Camera in broad daylight will make everything Pinkish/Purplish. Because of that reason, that is why I also went with the Body Camera. The body camera is my "go to" camera when I need regular light. It is also small and I can keep it in a camera case on my belt loop. There are some settings you can adjust on the Full Spectrum camera that will make things less purple and pink. All you need to do is go into EXPOSURE, and reduce the exposer to below 0. It ranges from -2.0 to 0 to +2.0 depending on the amount of regular lighting you are using it in

  • It's mainly designed for detecting bat calls and identifying the kind of bat. But I wonder if this can capture frequencies that our normal audio recorders are not capturing. https://www.echometertouch.com/ Looks like their main web site has more equipment that doesn't require an iPhone or Android phone. https://wildlifeacoustics.com/
  • So I want to make our own cameras and audio recorders. Been looking online for articles on how to make this stuff and it seams easy. But it's probably not. Anyone have experience with these computers? Here are some links I found.
