Why Use Technical Equipment?

We define ourselves as being a technologically advanced research group. What that means is that we utilize equipment on our investigations that is normally used to monitor natural or man-made environmental conditions and apply them to the field of paranormal research. We use a variety of common and uncommon tools in the hopes of finding the exact conditions needed to capture a paranormal phenomenon. Once we can determine the conditions needed for the anomaly to manifest, we can use the information to repeat the occurrence and perform experiments.

AGHOST Technical Projects

The following projects are currently being lead by AGHOST's Technical Director Steve Zarkos. Please feel free to email him with any questions, comments or suggestions.

  • AGHOST Reporting Database: This is the newest and by far the most complex of all of our technical projects. Among the more important aspects of participating on an AGHOST investigation is creating a report that represents the investigator's results of the investigation. This software consists of a web-based interface for case management and reporting. With this software, team leads will be able to manage cases and AGHOST investigators will be able to complete their reports online. All data is stored in a backend database for easy querying and searching.

In the short term this software will make reporting a lot easier for our investigators, and in the long term will provide an invaluable resource of investigation data that can be queried and sorted for useful statistical information and trend analysis.

  • AGHOST Media Archive: The media archive was developed to store all of our investigation data - including photographs, video and audio data - from all of AGHOST's walkthoughs and investigations. AGHOST members now have immediate access to all of AGHOST's investigation data via a web-based interface. As of October 2006 the archive contains over 32,000 photographs from AGHOST investigations and other events.

  • Space Weather Images: AGHOST's Technical Director has been working with fellow enthusiest Justin Faulk from Ghostgadgets.com to develop new software for more accurate space weather reporting. These new images can currently be viewed at weather.ghostgadgets.com.

  • Space Weather Archive: When reviewing old cases, it is often time consuming to dig through the SEC archive and find older space weather data to correlate with the reports. This is why we have built the Space Weather Archive. This software can display space weather data about any day since January 1, 1996.

  • AGHOSTOnline: This is a new website for the AGHOST community, AGHOSTOnline.org. When completed, this website will be home to AGHOST member blogs and news. The goal of the site is to allow AGHOST members to easily publish and collaborate with other ghost hunters from all over the world.
