WHY DO WE USE AUDIO EQUIPMENT?

We use audio equipment for two important reasons. The first is to document the investigation. It's much easier to report a certain reading or observation by talking into a recorder than to write it all down. The second is to capture and collect EVP.

EVP stands for Electronic Voice Phenomena. This is where voices that are not accountable for show up on an audio tape. Most EVP is not heard in person but is discovered later after listening to the recorded tape. These voices are sometimes recognized as loved ones who have past on, which is why EVP is considered apart of the paranormal field.
